Today I am sharing a recipe that I had never heard of until I moved to Mississippi. It must be a gulf coast thing, because EVERYONE around here eats it, and I can see why! Don't let the name fool you, this sauce is NOT just limited to shrimp! It goes great with pretty much anything seafood related: shrimp, crawfish, even fried fish! I bet it would even taste good on chicken! I'm telling you, this stuff is the bomb!
'Tis the season for parties... Try serving Shrimp Sauce as an alternate to cocktail sauce on those shrimp party platters. Or, make your own sampler platter using a mixture of seafood and chicken. Either way, it's sure to be a hit.

Ingredients:
- 1 cup Mayonnaise
- 1 cup Ketchup
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 Tbs Lemon Juice
- 2 tsp Tony's (see picture)
- Tabasco Sauce (optional)
Method:
Mix all ingredients in a bowl, (Add tabasco according to your tastes, or add it to the individual servings, as needed.) and stir well.
Leftover sauce should keep fairly well in an airtight container in the refrigerator, if needed - but honestly, we've never had any left to find out. ;)
Enjoy!
Looks like a great alternative to the usual cocktail sauce! Thanks for stopping by and sharing this on Five Friday Finds! I'm looking forward to what you share this week. :)
ReplyDeleteJust an idea, you can also add some horseradish and it gives it a nice little kick! Thank you for the recipe!
