(Fall Off the Bone) Oven Baked Chicken Wings

* Republished with updated photos. *

So you're in the mood for chicken wings, but don't necessarily want to fire up the grill, or get lost in all that sauce. Why don't you try this alternative? They're full of flavor, and the meat is so tender and moist, it practically falls right off the bone!

The best part is, they basically cook themselves. You don't have to stand over them flipping and turning them constantly, so they don't burn. You only have to roll them once. That's it. Easy peasy.

 Printable Recipe
Ingredients:
  • 3 lbs frozen Chicken Wings
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Poultry Seasoning
  • Hot Wing Sauce (Just pick your favorite.)
  • Butter (or Margarine)
  • 3/4 cup Beer (again, your favorite)

Method:
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Spray a 9 x 13 baking pan with cooking spray.
  • Arrange the frozen chicken wings in the pan in a single layer.
  • Sprinkle salt, pepper, and poultry seasoning over the top.
  • Drizzle your favorite brand of hot wing sauce over that.
  • Place a few spots of butter (or margarine) all around. (For this batch I tried a squeezable kind, and it worked pretty well.)
  • Pour the beer into one of the gaps between the wings. (Try not to touch any of the seasonings on top. The beer will distribute itself around the bottom of the pan.)

  • Cover tightly with aluminum foil, and bake in the 375 degree oven for 1 hour and 30 minutes, or until the meat has begun to pull away from the bone. (If your chicken was thawed partially before your started, it may not take that long)
  • Remove from the oven. Take the cover off, and roll all of the wings. (This will distribute the seasoning evenly throughout, and coat both sides of the wings.)
  • Return to the oven, and continue to bake (uncovered) for another 45 minutes, or until most of the liquid has cooked out and the skins are browned to your liking.
  • Remove from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.

Serves 3 - 4.

Enjoy!

    1. That's the thing that is so wonderful about this recipe, Hannah... You control the heat! The amount pictured will give you a lot of flavor, but not too much heat. That's why my daughter (who doesn't like spicy either) loves them! Either way, let me know how they turn out for you. :o)

  9. Nice. Thank you for making additional information about Crack sauce available on the internet. Chicken Crack is fairly versatile and has a lot of health benefits for your flock too. As long as you have the few main ingredients, you can pretty much add whatever else you have on hand, or whatever your flock likes the best. I've provided a list with a few examples. Feel free to pick and choose as you desire, or add some of your own divorce lawyer in virginia.
