3 Ingredient Berry Crisp

This dessert is one of our family's favorites! It is so simple, and has only three ingredients, but tastes amazing! It can be made using any berry that you like, fresh or frozen.
Our favorite is blueberry, but we picked these beautiful ripe blackberries,
so that is what we used this time.

Ingredients:
  • 3-4 Cups of Berries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 Box of Yellow, White, or Butter Golden Cake Mix
  • 1 Stick of Butter

First, remove any stems or leaves and rinse your berries. Let them sit in the strainer for a bit to get most of the excess water out. If you're using frozen berries, doing this will help break the berries apart, so that they go into the dish easier.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Pour the berries into a 9 x 9 baking dish (or similar size).  Pour in about 1/3 of the dry cake mix and shake the dish around to coat the berries, and get the mix in-between them a bit. Top the berries with the remaining dry cake mix. Shake the dish again to flatten the cake mix out. Cut a stick of butter into very thin slices, and layer them on top of the cake mix. (see picture) Cover as much of the cake mix as you can.

Cook in preheated 350 degree oven for about 30 minutes, until the top is golden brown, and the juices are bubbling on the sides. Remove from the oven, and let rest for a few minutes before serving.

Berry Crisp is best served warm, and can be eaten by itself; but it is even better with a dollop of cool whip, or scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Enjoy!
